Foundation Stage (Primary 1 and 2)
Children come to school from a wide variety of backgrounds and have a range of diverse learning experiences either at home or in a pre-school setting. Within Foundation Stage, pupils will build on these learning experiences in order to fulfil their potential. Pupils will actively engage in practical learning programmes which are enjoyable:
- Promoting children’s personal development
- Promoting positive attitudes and dispositions to learning
- Promoting children’s thinking skills and personal capabilities
- Encouraging creativity and imagination
- Enabling children to develop physical confidence and competence
- Enabling children to communication in a variety of ways
- Motivating children to develop literacy and numeracy skills in meaningful contexts.
