Theme 6 - Safety
This morning baby Lucia visited our class and we were delighted to see her progress! She is now crawling, has four teeth, can clap her hands and even waved at us! What a smart girl! 🥰
During her visit, we discussed important safety measures in the home to ensure a safe environment for babies like Lucia. Here are some key points we covered:
🌟Baby-Proofing: Ensure all sharp edges and corners are covered and secure heavy furniture to prevent tipping.
🌟Safe Play Areas: Create play areas free from small objects that could be choking hazards.
🌟Electrical Safety: Use covers for plug sockets incase little fingers could go inside.
🌟Secure Cabinets: Keep cleaning products and medicines in a high cupboard out of reach.
🌟Supervision: Always supervise babies, especially when they are exploring new skills like crawling and clapping.
🌟Safe Sleep: Ensure the cot is free from loose bedding, toys and pillows to reduce the risk of suffocation.
It was a valuable lesson for everyone, emphasising the importance of creating a safe and nurturing environment for all little children.❤️
