Today our P3 children had an amazing trip to The Gruffalo Trail at Colin Glen Forest Park, Belfast. This wonderful opportunity enabled the boys and girls to put their thematic learning this term into real life context as they journeyed through the woods in search of The Gruffalo and his friends. Once the search was complete and the characters had been found, they enjoyed making clay models, masks, leaf rubbings and The Stickman.
As it is Maths Week Ireland, they also kept an eye out for lots of Maths on the way round and were able to spot shapes, changes in the seasons and numbers! What an exciting Maths Trail!
It was a fantastic day filled with so much learning, adventure and fun! A special thank you to Marina, our facilitator and our student volunteers for accompanying us today.
