Cuppa and Connect☕️
23rd Feb 2024
Another fantastic morning with our lovely community members and P7 Grandparents at St Mary's, Macosquin for the second meeting of “Cuppa & Connect”.
On arrival we all enjoyed tea/coffee/ juice and tasty treats prepared and served by the lovely ladies! After this we listened to Peter Finch from Ashes To Gold Community and he discussed what they do for the environment. We also had the opportunity to ask him questions.
Then the children joined with the adults in groups to discuss two questions:
(1) What do we like about Macosquin?
(2) What could we improve in Macosquin?
Here are some of the suggestions:
🌟What we like about Macosquin…🌟
School
Church
Shop
Community spirit
Friendliness
Location
Park
Football Cage
🌟What we would like to improve about Macosquin…🌟
Zebra crossing
Football pitch, nets & surrounding area
Dog owners to lift their dog’s poo!
Park (broken equipment)
More bins & less rubbish
Bird houses
More colour
School car-park
Flower beds & hanging baskets and group to organise
More community sports & activities
Youth Club
Vegetable garden
Community Hall
More social life
Use Upper Hall more
Competition for most colourful house
The aim of today was to encourage everyone to take more responsibility and pride for their village. We hope that we can develop this over the years to come!
