Today was a super exciting day at Macosquin! We were delighted to welcome special visitors from Sustrans in Northern Ireland and Public Health Agency to see our good practice in Active Travel. The visitors enjoyed a special assembly, including a performance from our choir, before shooting footage for the 2024 ‘Big Walk and Wheel’ campaign. Our school was selected as the only one in Northern Ireland to be in these special photographs and videos- what an achievement! P3 and P7 did a wonderful job as the faces of the campaign.
During the special assembly, we were also awarded our Sustrans Ambassador School award for all our hard work on encouraging Active Travel. We are going to share our good practice with other local schools to help them achieve more active journeys to school too! In celebration of such a special day, children took part in ‘bling your backpack’ and decorated their school bags with lights, stickers, sparkles and more! Sustrans very kindly provided prizes to the best in each class- well done to our winners!
